Gravitational waves just helped us 'hear' the birth of another massive black hole

Scientists from the international Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO) collaboration just announced that they've recorded gravitational waves for the second time. The new field of gravitational wave astronomy is officially underway.
